The Sanitary Engineering Laboratory (www.eyt.gr) of the National Technical University of Athens (www.ntua.gr) together with the Hellenic Water Association (www.hwa.gr) are delighted to host the 13th IWA Specialized Conference on Small Water and Wastewater Systems (SWWS) together with the 5th IWA Specialized Conference on Resources-Oriented Sanitation (ROS).

 The event is a continuation of the previous successful Conferences of the 10th SWWS and 3rd ROS (Venice, Italy), the 11th SWWS (Harbin, China) and the 12th SWWS and 4th ROS (Muscat, Oman). The Conference, which will take place in Athens, Greece, will bring together researchers, engineers, water practitioners from academia, industry, water utilities, public authorities and administration to exchange know how and experiences. 

Within the Conference knowledge and expertise will be disseminated on innovative systems, technologies and processes which are/can be applied at small and decentralized regions for the management of water and wastewater. The whole water supply chain is considered from water abstraction to treated wastewater disposal and reuse. Furthermore, resource oriented sanitation as a route to sustainable and ecologically sound sanitation will be discussed focusing on developing countries.

Η ΕΥΔΑΠ εκτός των άλλων συμμετέχει με το βραβευμένο πιλοτικό του ερευνητικού προγράμματος στο FP7 - DESSIN, στις κατηγορίες :
- Βραβείο Προϊόντος & Υπηρεσιών (Products & Services Award)
- Βραβείο Επιχειρηματικότητας & Βιοποικιλότητας (Business & Biodiversity Award)
που υλοποιείται στις εγκαταστάσεις του ερευνητικού κέντρου της στη Μεταμόρφωση και θα παρουσιαστεί στο 13ο Συνέδριο της IWA με θέμα :
Promoting on-site urban wastewater reuse through MBR-RO treatment.
To DESSIN  είναι ένα από τα τέσσερα ερευνητικά προγράμματα που συμμετεχει και υλοποιεί η ΕΥΔΑΠ και έχει αντικείμενο την επίδειξη νέων τεχνολογιών για την εφαρμογή της Οδηγίας Πλαίσιο για το Νερό (60/2000). Στο πιλοτικό της Αθήνας που αποτελεί μία από τις 5 πιλοτικές εφαρμογές που υλοποιούνται σε Γερμανία, Νορβηγία, Ολλανδία και Ισπανία, επιδεικνύονται καινοτόμες τεχνολογίες για την επαναχρησιμοποίηση του νερού που στοχεύουν κυρίως στην άρδευση του πράσινου των αστικών περιοχών. Διάρκεια προγράμματος : 2014 – 2017.
